Racecomp Engineering Yellow Lowering Springs- Subaru

Racecomp Engineering is dedicated to providing enthusiasts with the ultimate suspension and brakes systems for their Subaru Impreza, Legacy, BRZ, and Mitsubishi EVO.
Since its founding in 2003, Racecomp Engineering has been widely regarded as the authority on suspension and brake design in the Subaru Impreza community. RCE components are found on everything from daily drivers to Speed World Challenge GT racecars.
Focusing on the track day and hardcore enthusiast, RCE strives to properly match clients with a suspension set up that best suits their needs. Rather than simply throwing parts at a car, the goal is to carefully choose a system that works together to provide the best possible solution for each individual driver. Understanding that a car can be much more than just the sum of its parts is crucial to maximizing grip, increasing control, and decreasing lap times.
Racecomp Engineering has provided unique solutions that fill the gaps in needed areas of the Subaru Impreza and Legacy chassis. Components are designed with sound suspension engineering theory coupled with extensive real world fine tuning on the street and track. The result is a range of highly acclaimed race-winning suspension and brake components for your Subaru.

RACECOMP ENGINEERING REGULAR GUY BLACK SPRINGS FOR 08-14 WRX

RG275BILS

Racecomp has taken feedback from the casual enthusiasts of the GTWORX Bilstein kit and produced a more daily driver friendly spring that still has a good combination of ride quality without sacrificing much track performance in comparison to the more agressive Yellows.

Racecomp Engineering’s goal was to help cure the understeer that adds to lap times at the track and autocross course. Hearing reviews that the Yellow spring traditionally paired with the WRX Bilsteins was too harsh for some, a less aggressive performance spring has been produced that retains available bump travel and works in conjunction with the rear motion ratio. The result is a car that handles extremely well from corner entry to corner exit yet retains ride comfort.

Due to the lower spring rate compared to the Yellows, the RCE Regular Guy springs may be used with stock struts on the 2009+ WRX. However, 2008 WRX owners will need upgraded struts to be able to use these.

Finally, a performance spring designed with function over form is available for the latest Subaru Impreza STI. Incorporating the knowledge gained from designing a growing list of suspension and brake performance parts for the true track day and autocross enthusiast, Racecomp Engineering is proud to announce the latest addition to their line up. The Regular Guy Functional Lowering Springs for the 2008+ Subaru Impreza STI are designed as the ultimate performance spring upgrade for the newly redesigned GR chassis.

Paying special attention to the completely new rear suspension design of the GR chassis, the Functional Lowering Springs provide a mild 5mm drop front and rear to maximize the limited suspension travel available. Shorter bumpstops are included front and rear to take things one step further, resulting in more bump travel than stock. Rarely does an aftermarket spring set-up add suspension travel, but in this case it is a crucial design aspect that improves performance while helping to maintain a civil ride on the street.

Spring rates of 320 lbs/in front and rear are intended to work with the completely new rear suspension of the GR chassis, which has a lower motion ratio in the rear than previous Imprezas. In addition, the OEM dampers have been carefully examined on a shock dyno to match the new spring rates to the dampers.

Racecomp Engineering’s goal was to help cure the crippling understeer that adds to lap times at the track and autocross course. Studying the design of the new GR suspension, a new performance spring has been produced that adds to available bump travel, matches the excellent OEM dampers, and works in conjunction with the new rear motion ratio. The result is a car that handles extremely well from corner entry to corner exit.

Continuing the “Regular Guy” theme from previous Racecomp designs, the springs are colored black for a low key look. Coupled with the minimal drop, most people would be hard pressed to find anything different from stock….until the road curves.

NOTE: For 2011 Impreza STI, ride height will remain the same as stock.

RACECOMP ENGINEERING 08-14 STI YELLOW SPRINGS

RCE-GRF340

RaceComp’s classic “Yellow” high performance lowering spring is now available for the GR chassis Impreza STI! Following the release of our popular “Regular Guy” springs, RaceComp has produced a more aggressive lowering spring for the 08+ STI. These new springs lower the car approximately 15mm and include new replacement bumpstops to maintain as much travel as possible on the lowering sensitive GR Impreza chassis. Spring rates are an aggressive 330 lbs/in front and 335 lbs/in rear. With a stance to match the performance, these springs utilize the knowledge RaceComp has gained from years of GR chassis set-up experience to maximize handling, retain ride comfort, and improve the look of your Impreza. Racecomp Engineering’s goal was to help cure the crippling understeer that adds to lap times at the track and autocross course. Studying the design of the new GR suspension, a more aggressive performance spring has been produced that retains available bump travel, matches the OEM dampers, and works in conjunction with the new rear motion ratio. The result is a car that handles extremely well from corner entry to corner exit.

NOTE: For 2011 Impreza STI, ride height is reduced 10mm instead of 15mm.

RACECOMP ENGINEERING SPORT LOWERING SPRINGS “YELLOWS” FOR 2015-2017 WRX

RCE-VA360-WRX

RaceComp Engineering’s classic Yellow springs offer an excellent combination of function and form for 2015 WRX. With the release of the new 2015 twins, Subaru stepped up their game with an impressive chassis but left room for improvement. Following an in-depth evaluation of the VA suspension, RaceComp Engineering Yellow spring rates are an aggressive 350 lbs/in front and 330 lbs/in rear that match the new OEM valving on the 2015 WRX. The Yellow spring set also retains more bump travel than competitior’s springs by including new front and rear bumpstops and a drop of 22mm front and rear. The goal was to minimize the understeer these cars have from the factory and offer a spring that not only performs exceptionally at the limit, but also retains ride comfort to daily drive around town. The result is a car that handles extremely well from corner entry to corner exit.
